Paul Flannigan is the creator of this website. Paul provides labor and employment counseling for corporations of all sizes. Although Paul practices law in this area, LaborStuff is not dedicated to providing legal services. The focus of LaborStuff is to avoid the need to go to court or battle a union in the first place.
It is a simple truth that happier employees are more productive, less likely to sue their employers or seek union representation. More productive workers earn more money for their employers. On the other hand, just one employee lawsuit, taken all the way to trial, can easily cost six figures to defend. And although private sector unions seem to be dying a slow, and well-deserved death, a successful organizing drive can wipe out a company.
In order to spend less on needless litigation and earn more through greater productivity, employers should spend more time focusing on the following:
- Creating workplaces that ensure everyone is treated with dignity and respect;
- Encouraging effective communication between employees, management and executives; and
- Forming employment policies that create appropriate environments.
Paul has over a decade of experience in counseling employers on how to accomplish these goals as well as having personal management experience.
